Cristina's Birthday|Open Thread

❧❃❧ Cristina leaned onto her palm, sighing as she looked rather disinterested. Tomorrow was her birthday and quite frankly, ever since Ezio left, she felt like it was just another day.

❝ Why does my birthday have to be tomorrow? I suppose sitting in my…

Jack’s eye’s widened when he saw Cristina cry, this was not his intention at all. Flying down to where the other was, Jack asked in a soft voice; “What’s wrong? Are you hurt?”

going through some old pictures from this past year and found these gems…after the curtain closes the first act on the last show of nutcracker, it’s customary to dump ALL OF THE SNOW AT ONCE while the snowflakes are still on stage

here we can be seen making snow angels and just generally enjoying the last nutcracker of the season…when there are 27 of them and you do big party girl, snow, and flowers in every single one of them, this is the most liberating feeling in the world

it’s not just Ryan the happy snowflake here, it’s Ryan AND THE MANY HAPPY SNOWFLAKES

this is awesome

  • Question: "W-W-W-WOLF!!!!!!" ((Hi, it's mean again. Jack is afraid of wolves. Yeah...)) - knotfairy
  • Answer:

Ammy stared at the other, one ear drooping and eyes frowning for her, as she stared at him for a good couple of minutes, before laying down in front of him, trying to show him she meant no harm.

'Winter? Could you show me what you can do? I do have a power of ice, but seeing as you are the spirit of winter, you probably have a better control over it than I do!' She replied cheerily, tail wagging excitedly.

Jack stared blankly at the wolf, What? Did she say she wanted to see my powers? Jack thought in astonishment. “I-I can’t do much..” He trailed off. Glancing behind him at the tree, Jack slowly turned around and gently tapped his crook against the bark.   image

Instantly frost began to curl around the tree like vines until it enveloped in an icy mask.

Her eyes and ears quickly perked up at the sight of his powers, tail wagging excitedly. 'Goodness! It turned into such a beautiful pattern! Not even I can handle that sort of skill to make ice look so pretty. I do commend you on that.' She said, completely accepting the fact that even though she had years more experience than this young spirit did, he still had more soul to put in it.

Jack’s eyes’ widened at this, he was being praised by another being like himself. “Th-thank you…” Was all the young spirit could say.

99-Year-Old Lady Sews A Dress A Day For Children In Need

Lillian Weber, a 99-year-old good Samaritan from Iowa, has spent the last few years sewing a dress a day for the Little Dresses For Africa charity, a Christian organization that distributes dresses to children in need in Africa and elsewhere.

Weber’s goal is to make 1,000 dresses by the time she turns 100 on May 6th. So far, she’s made more than 840. Though she says she could make two a day, she only makes one – but each single dress she makes per day is personalized with careful stitchwork. She hopes that each little girl who receives her dress can take pride in her new garment.

God bless her

When did he stop treating you like a princess?

Domestic violence and abuse can happen to anyone, but the vast majority of victims are young girls and women simply because they are “the weaker sex”.

Did you know:

  • On average, 2 women a week are killed by a current or former male partner. This constitutes nearly 40% of all female homicide victims.
  • 45% of women are abused/raped by current husbands or partners, 9% by former partners, and a further 29% of perpetrators were otherwise known to the victim. Only 17% are attacked by by strangers.
  • 44% of victims of domestic violence are involved in more than one incident. A large number of women experience the same abuse every week.
  • On average, a woman is assaulted 35 times before her first call to the police.
  • 30% of domestic violence either starts or will intensify during pregnancy.
  • In almost 75% of incidents, a child is present or in a room closeby.

It’s time to show the world that we are not weak and we will simply not stand for this kind of ill treatment. Women should be treated as princesses, like Ariel and Cinderella, who never have to live in fear of their so-called Prince Charming.

It’s time to stand up. To speak out. To be heard.
